Dear You,
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of making your heart's longings come true.
I don't care how old you are. I want to know if you'll risk looking like a fool to chase your dreams and your passion, for the adventure of being alive.
And I want to know if you can sit with pain without moving to hide it or fix it. I want to know if you can handle joy, if you can dance with wildness and let ecstasy take over and throw caution to the wind and just be.
I want to know if you can live with failure and still stand at the edge of a lake and shout out to a full silver moon.
It doesn't matter who you know or how you came here. I want to know if you'll stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink away.
I don't care with whom or how or where you studied and what you've done. It's your past and I respect it for making you who you are now but it will not bother me. I want to know what sustains you from inside when all else falls away and if you like the company you keep in the truly empty moments.
In short, I'm curious about you. I loved you without fully understanding, there was only acceptance. I love you now with a growing comprehension and respect. Each day is something new even with routine and I'll still love you when you're gone.
For you have filled in me, a space and opened the doors to the Now. But these are just fragments, please understand.
I love you, because you are and because I am and because we are and what we will be.
I love. You.
