Infatuation

This infatuation started very young
When you thought he was the one,
And you hoped it'll be fast over
So you don't have to run for cover,
'Cause every time you saw his face,
You'd wonder how his lips would taste,
Wonder if he'd ever bothered to know
That a person called you exists in the now.

Cursed by beauty,
Saved by silence,
His face has become one of millions,
And so you think back in resignation
At your foolish heart that didn't know
Any better than it does now.
