Short breaths,
Quick breaths,
A glance each way,
Breaking out in a run,
Then quick reduction to strides,
Escape mere inches away,
A brown door, a black gate,
Pandora's box in oneself
Unleashed, taunts one to run away
Into the darkness inside,
To the voices in one's head
Which whispers freedom,
Price to be paid in blood.

Running to Darkness
Home.
Darkness surrounds her -
She can not fight.
Weeks to go -
She slowly dies.
Unchained yet chained,
Loneliness sinks in,
Depression strikes hard,
At the girl within.
She screams and screams,
Cries then moans,
For the new place she found
Which is now to her -
Home.
